Obwarzanek Museum was created out of love to Krakow, its traditions and legacy. We are led by the thought of uniqueness of obwarzanek krakowski, which deserves to have a place devoted to it.
We started in November 2017.
Our guests are mainly children and teenagers, but also students, seniors, families, couples, groups of friends and tourists visiting our city. We share our knowledge on the tastiest symbol of Krakow and its 600-years tradition in an interactive way. The visit consists of the workshops, during which, apart from theoretical part, you get to make your own obwarzanek. We parboil and bake them, so our guests can leave us with a tasty souvenir and a certificate of competency.
We are really glad that our workshops are getting more recognised and that our guests share their positive feedback. We are appreciated by TripAdvisor users, and we can boast about many awards that we are proud of. We are a partner of the Made in Małopolska project, which distinguishes companies from the region that are worth recommending.
We promote obwarzanek in different ways by participating in various projects, also outside our museum. Once a year we organise Obwarzanek Day – Krakow’s answer to Polish Fat Thursday and the American Pretzel Day. It is impossible to count all the events in which we have participated so far, as a co-organizer, partner or sponsor of awards. We do not get bored for a moment! 🙂
In our souvenir shop you will find extraordinary souvenirs from local artists and social enterprises – magnets, mugs, socks, books, jewelry, toys and sweets and more.
Covid-19 pandemic was a challenge for us, but we didn’t give up and we are still working hard. At the end of December 2023, we opened a brand new, third workshop room and we still want more! 😉
